Girton Grammar School is now seeking an Assistant Head of House - Jones.
We are seeking a dedicated teacher for the Position of Responsibility Assistant Head of House - Jones. This is a 3-year fixed-term position, in addition to your underlying teaching role.
About the Role
The Assistant Head of House plays a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and moral development of students within their allocated house. Working closely with the Head of House, you will help foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages student growth and a strong sense of belonging.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As Assistant Head of House, you will assist the Head of House in achieving the following outcomes:
- Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with students in the house.
- Provide emotional and social support, addressing individual student needs and concerns.
- Promote a safe, inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and individuality.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating ethical behaviour and strong values.
- Facilitate discussions on moral and ethical issues to help students develop their own moral compass.
- Support the planning and execution of house events, activities, and programs that build camaraderie and house spirit.
- Collaborate with house staff to nurture a positive and inclusive house culture.
- Report serious incidents to appropriate authorities when necessary.
- Encourage and motivate students to achieve academic success.
- Maintain open, effective communication with students, parents, and school leadership.
- Keep accurate records of student interactions and relevant wellbeing information.
