HPE Teacher (Primary)
We seek to inspire and nurture confident, optimistic and compassionate young people who are world-ready. To support us on this journey, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic HPE Teacher with a passion for HPE curriculum in Kindy to Year 3 to join our dynamic team starting immediately.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting the holistic development of each child.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plan, develop and deliver engaging Junior School HPE lessons that promote physical literacy, health awareness and wellbeing, and cater for the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork and a love of physical activity.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students, parents/carers, colleagues and the wider school community through effective communication and collaboration.
- Work collaboratively with teaching colleagues to plan, review and adapt HPE programs and assessment practices to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Establish and model high expectations for student behaviour, effort and sportsmanship, supporting students to set and achieve personal learning and fitness goals.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress in HPE, providing accurate, timely and meaningful feedback to students and parents/carers.
- Deal promptly and efficiently with requirements such as record keeping and the maintenance of student attendance and achievement information.
- Attend student assemblies, worship and other activities as required.
- Model effective practice and support colleagues to implement
inclusive strategies that engage and support all students, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience in teaching Health and Physical Education from Kindy to Year 6.
- Willingness to be part of a well-established and collaborative team.
- A demonstrated ability to apply the principles of inclusive teaching and learning, including the use of learning technologies and assessment, to create a supportive and challenging environment in which students are supported in achieving to their potential.
- Proven classroom management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the diverse extracurricular program of the College.
- An active interest in and commitment to the education of young children.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a way which develops personal respect, respect for the College and the teaching profession.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration.
- Degree/Diploma qualifications relevant to the position.
