
Learn to Swim Instructor and Pool Lifeguard
Are you ready to make a splash in your career? Canterbury College is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our dynamic Aquatics Team as a Learn to Swim Instructor and/or Pool Lifeguard on a Casual basis.

Your role:
Learn to Swim Instructor Responsibilities: As a Learn to Swim Instructor, you'll be responsible for shaping the future of young swimmers and promoting water safety. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, engaging, and fun swimming lessons that meet program expectations.
- Creating a secure and enjoyable learning environment for all students.
- Helping students enhance their water safety knowledge and skills.
- Assisting in the development of new and existing swim programs.
- Conducting student evaluations with precision and accuracy.
Pool Lifeguard Responsibilities: As a Pool Lifeguard, you'll be the guardian of safety at our aquatic facilities. You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining a culture of water safety amongst our students and community. Your main duties will include:
- Keeping a close watch on the pool area, anticipating and swiftly responding to potential risks.
- Being proficient at administering first-aid and resuscitation when needed.
- Ensuring everyone follows the facility rules while promoting safe aquatic practices.
- Taking proactive measures to guarantee the safety and well-being of our patrons and equipment.
- Providing excellent customer service, addressing questions, and completing daily checklists.

Essential Qualifications:
- Learn to Swim and/or Lifeguard Certificate
- Working with Children Blue Card
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Desirable: Teacher of Babies and Toddlers and Teacher of Learners with a Disability certifications
